The tenure of the current government ends on May 31, 2018. After that, there will be a caretaker prime minister appointed for two months, during which the elections will also be held in Pakistan. If a consensus is not reached by May 31, the matter will go to the parliamentary committee that will have equal representation of the government and the opposition.
