GoDaddy Inc. is an American publicly traded Internet domain registrar and web hosting company headquartered in Tempe, Arizona, and incorporated in Delaware. You can gain huge discounts and promotions on your first purchase of any product on GoDaddy. Therefore, it is highly recommended that you go for multiple years in your initial purchase of any product. In the case of domain registration and web hosting, you can initially purchase for a maximum of 10 years.
Once your initial subscription period is over, you will need to renew your domain registration and web hosting as per the standard rates. If you apply promo codes on renewals, you will get the message: ‘This promotional code does not apply to renewals AND requires a xx minimum order. Add xx in new products to save x%.’
If your payment method is active and auto-renewal is on, you will be automatically charged to your payment method for the renewal. However, it is always a good idea to review the pricing and manually review a few days earlier so that there is no disruption in the website services. Even if you renew earlier, the next subscription will begin after the expiry of the current subscription.
Below, I have outlined the steps to manually review your GoDaddy subscriptions:
- Visit the link https://www.godaddy.com
- Sign In by entering your Username and Password
- On the top right, expand the options under your name, and click Renewals & Billing
- Subscriptions tab will show all your purchased products with Billing Date and Payment Method
- Put a checkmark against a product such as your domain and click Add to Cart. The product is now added to the cart.. If auto renewal is on, then click Renew Now
- On the top right, click the Cart icon.
- Cart items will be shown at the right with the number of years selected for domain renewal such as 2 Years. If you want, you can change the renewal period to such as 1 Year. You may also select Full Domain Privacy and Protection – Renewal
- Now put a checkmark against the next product such as your Hosting with cPanel or Web Hosting Deluxe and click Add to Cart. If auto renewal is on, then click Renew Now
- On the top right, click the Cart icon
- Verify the hosting months that will show 12 months by default.
- Once you have added all the items into the cart with the correct renewal periods, click the Cart icon and click Continue to Cart
- Review the cart for the charges of the individual items and the total charge
- Click View all promo codes and apply the relevant promo code.
- Click I’m Ready to Pay
- Check Billing Information, Payment Method, and Order Summary. Order Summary will also show the tax amount if applicable.
- If the Payment Method is correct, then enter the Security Code
- Click Review Order
- Click Complete Purchase
- You will see the Receipt mentioning the Order Date and Order Number
- There will also be a Print Receipt link that will direct you to the receipts page.
- On the top right corner, under your name, click Renewals & Billing again.
- You will notice that the billing date has been extended under the Subscriptions tab based on your payment.
- You will also receive an email from GoDaddy with the subject: ‘Yourname, thank you for your order.’
