Customs Declaration for Passenger

The Federal Board of Revenue (fbr), Pakistan issued a notification regarding the amendments in the Baggage Rules, 2006. The new amendment requires the passengers to file a customs declaration form at the time of arrival or departure. The amendment is termed as rule 7A and read as follows:

Customs Declaration for passenger. – In case of accompanied baggage, the passengers at the time of arrival or departure, shall file a customs declaration form as set out in Appendix-C.

The information required to be filled in the declaration form includes name, gender, date of birth, passport number, nationality, country coming from/going to, countries visited during the last seven days, purpose of visit, and contact person in Pakistan.

The main section of the form is the Declaration section, where the passengers are asked three questions in Yes/No. In the case of Yes answer, the passengers will also be required to enter the value/amount in the last column. The three questions ask the passengers if they carry any of the following goods:

  1. Prohibited/restricted goods such as narcotics, psychotropic substances, firearms, weapons, satellite phones, and others
  2. Gold jewelry, precious/semi-precious stones
  3. Foreign currency

The passenger will need to inform the customs officer at the Red Channel if the answer to any of the three questions is Yes. You can view the Customs Declaration Form at the link below:
