Moody’s Credit Profile for Pakistan

Moody’s Investors Service reaffirmed B3 stable credit profile for Pakistan. The US credit ratings agency termed CPEC project as the driving force of the Pakistan’s economy.

The agency, however, cautioned that increased imports due to CPEC projects would increase the debt burden and also make an impact on external payment position.

According to the agency, the key challenges surrounding the Pakistan economy in the contemporary context include narrow revenue base, external payment position, weak social infrastructure, and weak physical infrastructure.
