Profiling System Presented by NADRA and FBR

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), Pakistan and the Federal Board of Revenue (fbr), Government of Pakistan have launched a system to facilitate Pakistanis view their information as collected by NADRA and fbr.

According to the NADRA website:

FBR Tax Profiling System allows the citizens to view their profile created by correlating their data from multiple data sources of assets, expenses and life styles available with Government of Pakistan. Non-tax filers are especially encouraged to view their tax profiles and become part of the tax system.

The data for an individual is available separately on NADRA’s website and fbr’s website. Both sites display various information related to an individual.

If you already have an account with fbr’s Iris system, accessing information on fbr’s website is pretty straight-forward. Visit the following link and use your Iris login id and password to check your data:

Accessing your data on fbr website is available free of cost. and the information is displayed in the following six tabs. Click Load Data to extract information:

  1. Withholding (Others)
  2. Vehicles
  3. Withholding (Banks)
  4. Frequent Travellers
  5. Utilities
  6. Properties

There is a three-step process. In the first step, you will register on the website by entering your CNIC number, mobile number, and email address. The password will be sent to your mobile number and email address. Some verification questions will also be asked to confirm your identity. In step two, you will have to pay 500 rupees fee for viewing information. You can pay through credit card, debit card, or e-Sahulat.  In the third step, you will be given access to the data. The information is termed as ‘Indicative Taxnet Profile’.

The first section on NADRA’s website displays Personal Information, including Date of Birth, Marital Status, Address, and Mobile Numbers linked to the CNIC. The next section presents Tax Information. The third section is the Summary of travel, vehicles, phone connections, passports, and so forth. The fourth section shows the Locality Information such as District and Town. The fifth section presents the details of all Machine Readable Passports (MRPs). The sixth section displays Sample Billing Information.

It is an excellent initiative by the government of Pakistan to integrate data from various data sources.
