HUM TV Pakistan is starting a new drama serial from March 01, 2022, named Badshah Begum. It is a mega-budget project of HUM TV including many famous actors and actresses in lead roles. The drama is written by Saji Gul and directed by Khizer Idrees. It is produced by Rafay Rashdi and Momina Duraid under the banners of Rafay Rashdi Productions and MD Productions.

Story
According to an article published in Dawn, Images, the plot of the story is as follows:
“Badshah Begum is an accurate, yet misleading title. It is not about a ‘Badshah’ and a ‘Begum’ (i.e. king and queen), nor is it about an empress who takes over the crown (ala the misrepresentation of the title).
The story is about a ‘Pir’ named Shah Alam, and the five children of his two dead wives. Shahzeb and his younger brother Murad live as the decision-makers in the fictional state of Peeraan Pur, along with their aunt Hakim Bi, the resident ‘Badshah Begum’ who handles women’s affair in the estate.”
“Shah Alam, having had his fill of his stature, had shifted to the city long ago, where his other children, Jahan Ara, Roshan Ara and Shahmir are raised. Soon, the city dwellers are forced to return to their roots, and the two sets of children, who don’t get along, clash hard.
Two other important characters join the fray: one is Qaisar, a cousin to the brothers and sisters, and once the elder in line for the Pir title; the other is the city boy Bakhtiar, whose lovestruck nature lands him smack in the middle of this family feud.”
This drama has been placed on Parizaad’s slot on Tuesday. HUM TV has huge expectations from this drama. The unconventional story has the potential of grabbing the minds of the audience. Acceptability will be crucial. If in the first few episodes, the drama is successful in attracting the audience to the unique and innovative idea, the drama is guaranteed to be one of the top dramas of 2022.
